Holiday tinkering and Wedding present

My youngest daughter bought a dreamcather during our summer holiday 2014, but it got lost. This summer I noticed Molli Makes -magazine had a kit for making one. Thankfully my mother-in-law was coming to pay us a visit at my grand mother's and she brought me a copy of the magazine. And as usual I didn't quite understand what the instructions said so altered it to fit the frame. Daughter was rather pleased and has used it ever since.

My good friend and eldest son's god mother was getting married this summer and I had decided to make something myself. Unfortunately the quilt pattern I had dreamed up never materialised (I have a few years until cotton anniversary) so I made in similar colour theme them a pillow case each. The purple fabric is brand new, but the red flower patterned fabric of the heart is real vintage. I found it from my grand mother's stash. It was in strips so got to do some patchwork and quilting on this one.

My in-laws gave me an embroudery hoop for my birthday, so I used it to embroider some squiggles and their names on the pillowcase. First time in ages I used an embroudery needle and thread. I was rather proud of my effort!
